Deputy Speaker of the Iraqi Council of Representatives, Dr. Bashir Khalil Al-Haddad stressed today, Thursday, 30/9/2021, the need to develop mechanisms for the work of the parliament’s offices in the governorates in order to enhance the role of the legislative institution, face challenges, continue coordination and cooperation with service departments in the governorates, and follow up on the completion percentages of service projects. His Eminence’s speech came during his meeting at the headquarters of the Parliament’s office in Erbil governorate, capital of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, with the directors of the regional offices (Erbil, Sulaymaniyah, Dohuk, Soran, Zakho, Halabja), in addition to the presence of directors of offices (Kirkuk, Nineveh, right and left side, Sheikhan, Khanaqin).
The Deputy Speaker of the Council, and in the context of his direct conversation with the directors of the offices, stressed the importance of making more efforts and communicating with citizens in all governorates and transferring their daily suffering to the competent parliamentary committees, While Al-Haddad stressed the continuation of the Presidium of the Council’s support for offices through the Parliamentary Affairs Department and the governarate Department, and in another context, his Eminence pointed to the need to encourage the general public, especially in the governorates, to participate widely in the upcoming early parliamentary elections, choose people’s representatives for the next session, and complete the work of the legislative institution to perform its legislative and oversight functions.
For their part, the office Directors expressed their happiness in holding this meeting, and presented their observations, needs and issues that would improve the work of the offices, overcome obstacles and enable the provision of services to citizens in a way that enhances stability and prosperity in the country.
