The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi received the Australian Ambassador to Iraq, Dr. Joanne Loundes.
During the meeting, they discussed the relations between the two countries, expanded means of cooperation in all fields in accordance with mutual interests, emphasizing the importance of joint coordination to face the challenges of terrorism, preserving the sovereignty, security and stability of Iraq, and supporting the Iraqi government in ending the file of displacement and ensuring the return of the displaced to their homes.
The meeting also stressed the importance of intensifying the diplomatic movement, reducing tension and escalating to solve the problems afflicting the region, in order to achieve stability and maintain international peace.
