The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi received, on Saturday, the head of the United Nations international investigation team Karim Khan and his delegation.
The meeting reviewed the nature of the work of the international team and the powers under which they work in coordination with the parliamentary legal committee and the framing of its work in accordance with the legislative formula, and discussed the international efforts to internationalize the terrorist ISIS crimes and the crimes of genocide committed in Iraq.
H.E. affirmed the importance of documenting crimes, calling for accountability of those who committed and stand behind them, describing the danger of terrorism as growing and that it does not represent a component, religion or sect.
For his part, Khan expressed his team’s keenness to work in coordination with the competent Iraqi authorities to uncover the crimes of genocide and massacres committed against civilians.
