Attending the seminar of the American Chamber of Commerce… Al-Halboosi calls to contribute to the reconstruction efforts of Iraq

 

The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halboosi said, during his attendance at the Energy seminar of the US Chamber of Commerce on Tuesday, it is necessary to intensify efforts to attract international investments to contribute to the reconstruction of Iraq.

H.E. called on the countries that support Iraq to complete their mission in reconstruction after completing their tasks to stand with Iraq against terrorism, praising the position of the United States of America in supporting Iraq in fighting terrorists.

“One of the aspects of reform that the Iraqis are waiting for is the stage of investment and reconstruction, and there is a popular welcome in this direction because it eliminates unemployment and achieves local growth for all Iraqi provinces,” al-Halboosi said, pointing out that the Parliament will work to enact laws that help to facilitate the procedures for investment in the private sector.

The Speaker affirmed the importance of continuing the international effort to support Iraq, especially in the reconstruction and strengthening of the Iraqi economy, and starting to implement the outputs of the Kuwait Conference on Reconstruction, which will give Iraq global opportunities for investment.

“The memory of the liberation and the declaration of Iraqi victory on Da’ish is passing nowadays, and I think there is opportunity to provide the ideal model to support this victory through the reconstruction of these provinces, to return life to all areas and the return of displaced,” al-Halboosi added.

The seminar was attended by US Energy Secretary Rick Perry, US Deputy Secretary of State John Sullivan and 50 business leaders and officials.
