Al-Halbusi receives PM and discusses with him a number of important files
The Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbusi received, at his office on Friday evening, the Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi.
The meeting discussed a number of Iraqi issues and its developments, particularly the flood crisis that hit a number of the cities of Ninawa and Salahuddin governorates, as well as the displacement camps, stressing that the crisis cell must start its work as soon as possible, to redress the humanitarian situation and compensate those affected.
The meeting also stressed the importance of speeding up the closure of displacement camps, providing the necessary allocations for the return of displaced persons and finalizing this file.
With regard to the file of vacant ministries, the importance of selecting professional and efficient personalities was emphasized, in order to support the implementation of the ministerial program and to meet the aspirations of citizens.
The meeting also discussed ways of cooperation and joint coordination in order to achieve the required integration between the legislative and executive authorities and contribute to the legislation of laws that reflect positively on the reality of the Iraqi citizen, especially the fight against corruption.
With regard to the law of the general budget, the meeting stressed the need to accelerate the necessary amendments, which will support the reconstruction process and improve the reality of service and provide employment opportunities.
The meeting tackled the issue of dealing with the distribution of land plots and the issuance of the related necessary decisions, as well as the plans to facilitate the construction process for the elimination of slums and the opening of the Green Zone to facilitate the traffic between the sides of Karkh and Rusafa, taking into account the protection of embassies and diplomatic missions.
The meeting also discussed ways to improve external relations with the Arab world and the world, thus contributing to providing an attractive environment for investors and supporting reconstruction operations.
