Turkish FM asserts Erdogan’s decision to increase water releases to Iraq

The Speaker Mohammad al-Halbusi met Turkey’s foreign minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and his accompanying delegation in Baghdad on Thursday. Both sides discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and means of enhancing them.
Mr. Çavuşoğlu asserted President Tayyip Erdogan’s decision to increase water releases to Iraq, the issue that was the focus of talks between the Turkish president and Iraqi parliament Speaker in Ankara on Tuesday.
At the end of the meeting, al-Halbusi thanked the President of Turkey for the quick response concernig the increase of water releases, noting that this issue tops the concerns of the public.
